We had heard that the Whitsunday Islands were quite nice, so we thought we would poodle over for a little look, and immediately corrected our opinion accordingly, the islands are magnificent. The islands are part of a National Park, so you need to be part of an organised trip to get there, no worries I wasn't planning on swimming. The trip included some snorkeling, not sure why as it is freezing in the water and then some time on Whitehaven Beach, 7km of pure white sand. When we got to the beach we were able to appreciate just how great the sand is, imagine the whitest, softest, finest sand ever...are you imagining, well it's much better than that. If you are coming here and you are rich, I would recommend a trip over on a sea-plane, it looks cool and it will stop at an isolated bit of the beach just for you - I've known Frenchie for too long to be arsed with trying to impress her, but if I could be asked, and I was rich, it would be the sea-plane for us. Here's a fact for all you geeks, sand from Whitehaven Beach was melted down to make the Hubble Telescope which NASA uses to look for aliens....and here's a question for all you geeks who found that interesting: do I know you, what are you doing reading my Website? Just kidding, made myself laugh there.....
