New Zealand - South Island - Christchurch (30/09-01/10/2007)

Christchurch looks a bit like an oldie woldie English provincial town (Winchester on a good day, perhaps more Norwich if you were being mean). We had a cool day strolling around admiring the place, drinking coffee (in my experience New Zealand is the best country in the world for coffee drinking but one of the worst for eating lamb, explain that, I can´t). In the evening we visited a pub local to our campsite, where we enjoyed some pints, watched some rugby (where all the adverts were for tractors, I love a good stereotype) and were frightened by a visiting Hen party. The next day we visited some more of Frenchie´s southern hemisphere dwelling buddies, who were happy to be surprised on a Sunday morning.
Pictures:
1. Christchurch tram.
2. Old woldie building.
3. Found a statue of Scott of the Antarctic, a real British hero who must have visited NZ.
4. Hat shopping, I wasn´t allowed to buy this one as it was a bit expensive, and I was already on my sixth hat of the holiday.
5. Ignore the dog on the skateboard in this picture, the real area of fascination for me was the girl with no shoes on. It´s weird but, all over NZ I kept seeing people without shoes, if it was hot I could almost understand, but it was bloody freezing.
6. Frenchie with Victoria, Little Jemima, Little Rupert and Charlie.
